Source policy

Cutmap publishes analysis of films, not the films themselves.

What we publish

Our own measurements (cut timings, beat lengths, pace, loudness) and our own written analysis of how each film is put together, with a poster frame and one still frame per beat for reference.

What we don’t

We don’t host or redistribute other people’s videos. Films play from where they were originally posted (YouTube, Vimeo, X), so views go to the owner. Downloaded copies used for measuring are deleted once the breakdown and frames are made: within minutes for most films, or within a day for films analysed in bulk.

Credit

Every breakdown credits the maker and brand where they are known, and links to the original post.

Build briefs

Build briefs describe the structure and technique of a film so people can make something original. They never reproduce a film’s footage, characters, brand, logo or copy.

Ask us to remove a breakdown

If you own a film or represent its owner and want its breakdown taken down, tell us below. We act on requests quickly.
